A prompt is a single question CrawlSpider asks each AI model on your brand's schedule — written the way a real buyer would actually type it, not as a keyword.
The six buyer-journey pools
Every prompt belongs to one of six pools, matching a different stage of how someone actually shops:
- Discovery — the buyer doesn't know your brand yet and just describes a need ("What are the best CRM tools for a small sales team?").
- Alternatives — the buyer wants to move off a named competitor.
- Use case — the buyer wants the best option for a specific workflow or industry.
- Evaluation — the buyer is researching your brand by name.
- Comparison — your brand vs. a named competitor.
- Implementation — questions about setting up or using a brand once it's already been chosen.
Discovery, alternatives, and use-case prompts deliberately don't mention your brand by name — that's the point: they show whether AI brings you up on its own, unprompted.
✨ Suggest prompts
On the Prompts page, this button asks AI to draft a realistic set of prompts across all six pools for your brand's category — a fast way to get a solid starting set instead of writing every question by hand. You can edit, delete, or add to whatever it generates.
AI models
Each prompt runs on every AI model enabled for your account (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, depending on your plan — see Pricing). Every prompt × model combination is tracked and scored separately, so you can see whether, say, Gemini mentions you more often than ChatGPT does.
Cadence
Prompts don't have their own individual schedule — they follow their brand's cadence. See Brands & Scan Cadence to change how often a brand's prompts run.
